Fernald speaks in Milton about her bid in special election for House seat

Navarre's Jan Evans Fernald told the Santa Rosa Democrats on Mar. 8 that she felt compelled to enter the special election for Florida's House of Representatives, District 4.

"I've wanted to get involved for a while," Fernald told the group in Milton. "I've thought about county commission and school board, but this is an opportunity that I felt I must take."

Fernald,  an Air Force veteran and resident of Northwest Florida for over 25 years, will not have an opponent in the special election later this month when five Republicans will vie in a primary.

The special general election for the seat will take place in April.
