Tolbert exonerated

Nearly five months after his initial arrest, Tim Tolbert, a prominent Santa Rosa County building official, can finally breathe.  Late Tuesday night, the State Attorney's office announced they would drop the felony battery charges against Tolbert.  Tolbert, 47, was arrested Oct. 24, accused of hitting a youth football player in the head following a postgame brawl at Magee Football Field in Pensacola.  In December, the State Attorney offered to reduce the charges from a second degree felony to misdemeanor simple battery. Tolbert refused, maintaining his innocence.  Of the recent announcement, Tolbert's wife Kelly said they are grateful.  "We knew this day would come," she said.
