Without objection, the Santa Rosa County Commissioners officially approved its engineering department to launch the permitting process for the removal of the Symphonia from Navarre Sound, just east of the bridge.

"We looked into our removing it," said Chairman Gordon Goodin, "but technically it's a state problem. We may  be able offset the permit process by contracting someone who will pay us for the scrap."
