On Thursday, special magistrate Mark Sherman submitted his recommendations for resolution of the contract negotiations impasse between the Santa Rosa County School Board and the Santa Rosa Professional Educators.
Both parties now have 20 days to accept or reject the magistrate's recommendations.
The main point of contention is whether or not teachers should automatically receive an in-step salary increase for this school year.
More details about the magistrate's recommendations will be forthcoming after the 20-day consideration period by the school board and SRPE.
In December, both sides submitted outlines of their cases to the special magistrate.
