On Wednesday, Jan. 13, Hurlburt Field will be receiving an equipment delivery that is expected to delay traffic on Highway 98.

           

The delivery consists of two flatbed tractor trailers: one transporting a C-130 fuselage, and one transporting the wing section of the C-130. The truck carrying the fuselage will travel south on Highway 87 from Interstate 10, and then east on Highway 98. The truck carrying the wing section will travel south on I-110 from I-10, and then east on Highway 98. They are anticipated to arrive at Hurlburt Field between 10 a.m. and noon.             The C-130 will be used as a simulator for ground, loading and maintenance training to reduce the burden of using flightline airframes for most of these tasks.
