The budget workshop for Santa Rosa County constitutional officers is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4 and the board of county commission departments for Wednesday, August 5.  Both workshops will begin at 9 a.m. in the Santa Rosa County Commission Meeting Room, 6495 Caroline Street in Milton. The public is invited to attend or view in real time at http://www.santarosa.fl.gov/bocc/meetings.html by selecting “watch and listen to the meeting.”  A link to the full meeting will available by the next business day for replay at the same Web location.   A public hearing on the tentative FY 2009/2010 budget is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8 at 6 p.m.  The final public hearing on the proposed budget will be held on Monday, September 21 at 6 p.m.  The public hearings will also be held in the Santa Rosa County Commission Meeting Room in Milton.  According to Santa Rosa County Administrator Hunter Walker’s budget message, the total operating budget is $74.67 million.  Revenue from the general, road and bridge and fine and forfeiture funds for fiscal year 2009/2010 is estimated at $6.78 million less than fiscal year 2008/2009, or a reduction of 8.7 percent.
