Breaking News Newsflash Burglary at Villa Soleil

Burglary at Villa Soleil

The building from which Villa Soleil Salon and Day Spa was evicted last week has been burglarized.

Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office investigators checked the building for fingerprints this morning, said Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Scott Haines. He confirmed a "business burglary" had been committed, but could provide no further information this morning.

John L. Scott, who owns the building at 8006 Navarre Parkway, evicted Villa Soleil for falling three months behind in rent. Leslie Huckabee, who owns Villa Soleil, told Navarre Press last week she had paid $7,000 a month rent at the building for six years without incident.

Because Scott had Huckabee evicted on such notice, there was some speculation Huckabee may have been involved in the burglary. A phone call to Santa Rosa County Jail confirmed that she had not been arrested.

"I didn't even know about it,"  Huckabee said of the break-in when contacted by Navarre Press.  "That's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time."
