Up With People

Twenty-five young adults from around the world are donating their time and energy to construct a new picnic area for school groups at The ZOO Northwest Florida on March 12th and 13th. They will work at The ZOO both days from 9:30 a.m. until 3:00 pm. Through its unique 6-month program, Up with People participants experience personal growth, leadership training, service learning and performing arts as they travel through three continents. In each city, the cast works on several volunteer projects. The Up with People cast will be in Pensacola from March 9-16, performing on Saturday, March 14 at 7:00 pm at Woodham Middle School. Tickets for their performance are available on their Web site www.upwithpeople.org and at The ZOO gift shop. “We are excited to have such a diverse group of volunteers from around the world join in our effort to renew our ZOO. More than18,000 school children visit The ZOO each year on field trips, and because of Up with People we’ll be able to provide a beautiful and functional picnic area for the kids in our area,” said ZOO executive director Danyelle Lantz.
