Recreational Pond Management Workshop Offered

The Okaloosa and Santa Rosa County Extension offices are offering a Recreational Pond Management Workshop at the extension office in Crestview on March 23 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The free program is designed to help pond owners learn to properly manage their recreational pond.The workshop will be held at the Walthall Agricultural Center at 5479 Old Bethel Road in Crestview. Pre-registration is suggested by calling the extension office at 689-5850 or 675-6654.Fishery specialists from the University of Florida will address how and what to stock, fertilizing, liming and managing for the fish you want.Additionally, Aquatic Weed Specialist will be on hand to identify weeds and make recommendations for control. Attendees are encouraged to bring fresh samples of weeds they are having problems with. Homeowner associations with aquatic resources are encouraged to take advantage of this educational opportunity as well.
