A Santa Rosa County building permit technician was convicted of 16 misdemeanor counts of theft on Aug. 13 after charges were filed by the county.

Maria Glenn, 47, was fired on April 3 after $330 in discrepancies was found. A thorough audit of Glenn’s transactions since her hire in June 2004 found a total of $1,195 in suspicious transactions.
A questionable transaction by Glenn on March 18 was red flagged by the county’s internal control processes, which prompted the initial audit.
