Skin cancer screenings during Blue Angels Weekend

Baptist Cancer Institute is offering a free skin cancer screening event this weekend during the Blue Angels Air Show, July 8 and 9.

The Baptist tent will be located by CasinoBeach’s PublicSafetyBuilding from 8 a.m. to noon both days. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss sun-exposed areas of concern with on-site physicians.

The team will be screening for the two major types of skin cancer, melanoma and non-melanoma, both of which are related to sun exposure. Screenings are limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants will be provided with local resources if additional follow-up is needed.

This is the sixth year that Baptist Cancer Institute heads to PensacolaBeach to offer prevention and education during the Blue Angels Weekend.

Last year’s team conducted more than 300 screenings.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States, but with prevention and education you can save your body’s largest organ from a lifetime of damage.
