State Road 87 traffic to be rerouted

Beginning Monday, April 4, crews will restripe the northbound lane of State Road 87 north of Five Forks Road to shift northbound traffic.

Weather permitting; crews will begin work n the northbound lane April 7. The shift will allow the contractor to work on the new drainage system and begin grading operations for the new northbound roadway. The existing northbound turn lane onto Stillwater Cove will be closed and utilized as part of the lane shift for northbound traffic. Southbound traffic will be maintaining a single lane.

Traffic will remain on this pattern until the new northbound lanes are completed and opened to traffic.

Monday and Tuesday (April 4, 5) east and westbound traffic on State Road 30/US 98 at the intersection of SR 87 will encounter lane restrictions between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. Crews from C.W. Roberts will be constructing a left turn lane at Santa Rosa Sound RV Resort.

Motorists are reminded to use caution, pay close attention to the new traffic pattern and obey the posted speed limit when traveling through the work zone.
