Drivers ‘OK’ following rollover wreck on Sunrise Drive

Two Navarre residents received minor injuries following a two-car collision in which car one rolled over, on May 5.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, Cassandra N. Venegas, 17, a student at Navarre High School, was traveling west on Leisure Street  in a Chevrolet Avalanche when she drove past the stop sign where the street intersected with Sunrise Drive.

At the same time, Ajaneigh Houston, 21, of Navarre was traveling north on Sunrise Drive in a 1995 Mercedes C22.

Venegas proceeded into the intersection in front of Houston, the press release states.

The front end of Houston's car hit Venegas' Avalanche and the impact caused the car to overturn.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor.

Venegas was taken to Gulf Breeze hospital for treatment of minor injuries and was issued a stop sign violation.
