Hurricane Gustav blows through, evacuees seek shelter in Navarre

As Eldon Bourg watched the TV screen from the comfort of the Hampton Inn and Suites, the sight seemed like a prank only Mother Nature would play.
Just three years earlier, the Luling, La., family rode out the onslaught of Hurricane Katrina in their father-in-law’s home, just a few blocks from their own house.
But as last week progressed, forecasters’ prediction of Hurricane Gustav was one of deadly proportions.
