Park service releases Kemp’s Ridley hatchlings into the Gulf of Mexico

It was a homecoming of sorts.

A small crowd gathered along Opal Beach Aug. 19 to watch a group of rangers from Gulf Islands National Seashore release 114 Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle hatchlings into the Gulf of Mexico.
