Chapel ministers to Sudanese

War torn and poverty stricken, Sudan is far from a dream vacation to the average traveler.

But Pastor John Spencer and members of the Calvary Chapel in Gulf Breeze weren’t planning on kicking up their feet. They went to minister.
“We were ministering to the soldiers in the Sudanese army to boost their spiritual strength,”  Spencer said.  “It encourages that other people care about them and want to help them grow spiritually.”
However, after ministering in countries like Austria, Ireland and Costa Rica, Spencer was amazed how primitive the Sudanese lived.
During the last week of July, nine members of the chapel’s Far Reaching Ministries – a nationwide group - flew to Nimulee, Sudan, hoping to train pastors and chaplains on the Bible through several conferences.
