Dr. Natalie Dyson, a veterinarian with St. Francis Veterinary Center in Navarre, performed surgery on an injured bald eagle after the rare bird was found and handed over to the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge.
Dyson used pins to repair a fracture to the eagle's wing and the eagle is now recovering at the Refuge. It may take a couple of months before Dyson can determine whether the eagle will be able to fly again.
