Teri Kingry has always been an artist at heart.
As a student at Milton High School, she took all the art courses the school offered and then some.
“I took as much art in school as I could,” Teri explained. “Until they told me the only thing left is to be an art assistant, so I did that.”
Today, she is living her dream as a full-time artist with a home studio full of her creations, one of which is fast becoming a local favorite.
Teri’s Fish Florida shirts are on display at local business around the area, and feature original artwork done by Kingry herself.
A Santa Rosa County native, Teri worked more traditional full-time jobs when her sons were small, but has since made the transition to promoting and selling her creations.
“I wanted to do my own thing,” she said, so she formed Something Fun, her arts and crafts business. The Fish Florida shirt is her way of encouraging locals and tourists alike to think local, and shop local. And of course, to fish local as well.
Teri’s design features a painting of her husband’s catch from a recent trip into the Gulf of Mexico. The redfish, king mackerel, and red snappers are bound by a distressed frame with the phrase Fish Florida emblazoned on the back. Her shirts can be found locally at Broxson Outdoors, Hot Spot Bait & Tackle and Navarre Beach Fishng Pier.
