Jingle Bell Jog comes to Florida

About 2,000 runners are expected to participate in the 3rd Annual Special Forces Association Chapter 7 Jingle Bell Jog Dec. 10 in Fort Walton Beach.

The 10-kilometer race is the oldest continuously running race event in the U.S. Army. While the 10-kilometer event is geared toward runners, other participants are invited to push children in strollers or lead their dogs on leashes in the 5-kilometer fun run/walk.

The event begins and ends at the Uptown Station in Fort Walton Beach. "This years Jingle Bell Jog has a special meaning for all of us, our Special Forces Chapter, our Group and most importantly our Families and surrounding communities," said Maj. James Brownlee, this year's race director. "This may be our inaugural run here in Florida but it is our 33rd consecutive year of putting on this wonderful event, and we are truly excited to be here in Florida."
