A new dog park for large dogs over 25 pounds will open to the public on Thursday, July 7 at 8 a.m.
The park located on High School Boulevard across from the Navarre Gym, includes a fenced and irrigated grassed area, security lighting, shade trees, benches, a 12 foot by 24 foot pavilion, and automatic watering bowl.
The existing dog park, which is located north of the Navarre gym, will now be open for small dogs only, up to 25 pounds. The small dog park was also improved with new security lighting, irrigated grassed area and automatic watering bowl.
Both parks are open from sunrise to sunset and were funded by Commissioner Jim Melvin’s district four recreation funds.
