Festival to honor long-time animal activist

Barbara Bonowicz isn’t just an animal lover, she’s become a champion of sorts – at least according to her friends and colleagues at the Gulf Breeze Area Chamber of Commerce.  For years, Bonowicz has been the driving force behind Pet Fest, a day-long celebration for animals of all shape and size in Gulf Breeze.

And though an illness forced Bonowicz to take a step back this year, her fellow Chamber members have taken the reigns and, in a fitting tribute, have decided to honor Bonowicz and her animal world accomplishments by dedicating this year’s festival to the long-time activist.
