As a chilly wind blew through the open bay doors of Freedom Hangar, the men and women of Hurlburt Field said goodbye to their fallen brothers in arms.

Hurlburt General nominated for second star

Brigadier Gen. Michael J. Kingsley, commander of the 23rd Air Force/director, operations, Air Force Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field has been nominated by President Barack Obama for a second star.

Hurlburt mourns the loss of four airmen

Hurlburt Field’s 1^st Special Operations Wing announced the loss of four airmen on Feb. 20. The men were killed on Feb. 18 when their U-28A was involved in an accident near Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, located in the Horn of Africa.

F-18s to begin flyovers in March

Naval F/A-18 aircraft from Navy Auxiliary Landing Field (NALF) Fentress in Virginia will be using Navy Outlying Landing Field (NOLF) Choctaw to continue their training mission while NALF Fentress is temporarily closed.
