A father and son connected once again at the Hurlburt Field Air Park on Dec. 28. Kim Carmean traveled from West Virginia to see and touch the C-47 that his father flew over Normandy during World War II.

The Emerald Coast chapter of Heroes on the Water showed 12 injured veterans what they could do on Nov. 3 when disabilities were left on the Santa Rosa Sound shoreline and replaced with kayaks, and rod and reel.

Big change in gun law not expected from task force

As a task force on Florida's much-debated "stand your ground" law finished its final meeting Nov. 13 in Pensacola, its draft report recommended no sweeping changes to the statute and a key legislative leader said he would not favor such changes if they were recommended.
