On April 12, about 100 veterans from around the area participated in the last Emerald Coast Honor Flight, which brings World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to see their memorial.

Navarre resident Major Matt Astroth, an assistant operations officer and an AC-130U aircraft commander with the 4th Special Operations Squadron, has been chosen as the recipient of the 2010 Aviator Valor Award.
