eleven of which were added during the 44th Annual Explosive Ordnance Disposal Memorial Service held at the Kauffman EOD Training Complex on Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. More than 1300 were in attendance to support the EOD family. Army, Marines, Navy and Air Force had causalities since the service last year. The names of the fallen EOD Technicians are those of EOD school graduates who have died while performing EOD missions since World War II. A new class is started every three days and a third of the students wash out before graduation. The joint forces school graduates an average of 900 a year.
The distinguished guests included family members of the fallen and Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Jonathan Greenert.
The eleven fallen EOD Technicians added to the wall today are, Army: SSG Israel P. Nuanes, SSG Eric S. Holman, SSG Jonathan P. Schmidt; Marines: SSGT Joseph D'Augustine, SSGT Joseph H. Fankhauser, SGT John P. Huling, and SSGT. Sky R. Mote; Navy: EOD2 Taylor J. Gallant, LT Christopher E. Mosko, EOD1 Sean P. Carson; and Air Force: SRA Bryan R. Bell.
