In observance of Veteran’s Day, the U.S. Department of Labor held the second annual Northwest Florida’s Veteran and Military Hiring Fair.
The fair, held Friday, Nov. 14, gave veterans, military personnel and job seekers an opportunity to meet directly with owners and human resource officers from 47 area businesses.
“We’re targeting veterans, military and active duty military,” said Don Holloway, veteran’s services and disabled veterans representative with Jobs Plus. “We’re driven by our responsibility to keep veterans employed. Twenty-five percent of the homeless population is veterans. We feel compelled to change those numbers.”
