Local airman awarded national citation

Brandon, Aiden and Sara Bruner in a family photo taken before Brandon’s year-long deployment began. On Sept. 17, Brandon and Sara will be in Washington, D.C. where Brandon will be awarded the Air Force Association’s 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year Award.

Brandon Bruner of Navarre is a man of many titles. To his wife, Sara, he’s a friend and a companion, someone whom she misses since he deployed in June for a year-long tour in Afghanistan.

To Brandon and Sara’s five-year-old son Aiden, Brandon is a playmate, someone who will play fight and throw fake punches on the floor with Aiden. The pair skateboards and plays video games together.
