Villa named honorary commander

Sarah Villa, an attorney in Destin, poses with the newest jet in the military’s arsenal, the F-35. Villa was recently named an honorary commander of the 33rd Fighter Wing, which flies and maintains the F-35.

Sarah Villa, an attorney with Matthews Jones & Hawkins, LLP, has been named honorary commander of the 33rd Fighter Wing at Eglin Air Force Base.

Villa has been a practicing attorney since 2008 and specializes in criminal and family law. Her nomination for the title of honorary commander came from Colonel Donald Finley, director of staff for the 33 FW.

“(Finley) had met her through her law work and thought she might make a good candidate based on her good rapport with people and ability to communicate ideas,” said Major Karen Roganov, public affairs officer at the 33d Fighter Wing.
