Brigadier Gen. Michael J. Kingsley, commander of the 23rd Air Force/director, operations, Air Force Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field has been nominated by President Barack Obama for a second star.
The rank of Major General must be approved by Congress. Kingsley’s last promotion to the rank of Brig. General was effective on Aug. 14, 2009.
Kingsley is a command pilot with more than 3,200 flying hours and has flown rotor wing aircraft including the UH-1, HH-3, HH-53 and MH-53J/M.
His current assignment at Hurlburt Field is not Kingsley’s first tour in the Florida panhandle. He served as operations officer and then Commander of the 20th Special Operations Squadron at Hurlburt Field.
