Military Thanking those who served

Thanking those who served

Water is shot from a fire engine onto the plane the veterans took to Washington, D.C., as a tribute. On April 12, about 100 veterans from around the area participated in the last Emerald Coast Honor Flight, which brings World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to see their memorial.

The Honor Flight takes off at about 7 a.m. and returns the same day with many friends, family and various other people, who simply appreciate the veterans’ service, waiting to greet and thank them.
This was the last flight because there are simply no more WWII veterans in the area to participate.
