The move started more than a year and a half ago with a small advance team. In less than six months, all 2,300 active duty and 3,048 dependants will be in place. Families are moving to Defuniak Springs, Crestview, Niceville, Milton, Navarre and places in between. The families don't feel the need to be close to the cantonment site. Some families wanted a lot of acreage and some wanted to live in neighborhoods with sidewalks.
