Naval Officer Enrique Sadsad is being recognized nationally for something Santa Rosans have been witnessing for years - his outstanding leadership capabilities.

On Aug. 3, Sadsad, the commanding officer at Naval Air Station Whiting Field, will be honored as the 2009 Military Leader of the Year at the Association of Defense Communities’ annual conference in Boston. The award recognizes individuals from any branch of service whose outstanding leadership has been essential in building and sustaining partnerships with defense communities.
