John Henry Ellis, 1921-2008

John Henry Ellis, 87, of Navarre, died Sept. 30, 2008.

Mr. Ellis was a native of Mobile, but resided in the area for the last 50 years.

He was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Hadji Shrine Temple, and was a Marine Corp veteran of World War II and Korea.

Survivors include: son John E. Ellis and brother Aubrey E. (Marzell) Ellis.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 3 at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, Navarre, with the Rev. Elizabeth J. Powell officiating. Burial follows at 2 p.m. in the Magnolia Cemetery, Mobile, with military and Masonic honors. Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre, is directing the services.
