In an effort to encourage Americans to eat more fruits and vegetables, Fruits & Veggies - More Matters, a national public health project, is a fresh take on a familiar topic.
One way of getting a variety of fruits and vegetables into your diet is to eat your colors. The Eat Your Colors campaign promotes choosing fruits and vegetables in a variety of colors to maximize nutrition and avoid monotony.
By varying the color of the fruits and vegetables consumed each day, the body gets a wide variety of key nutrients. Different colors denote different minerals and vitamins in each variety.
