Relay for Life is personal

Anthony Boldt and his son Chris celebrate their last shared birthday together before Anthony lost his life to brain cancer.

For many, participating in Relay for Life is a chance to support cancer research as a practical matter, and for some it is deeply personal. For Donna Boldt of Navarre, captaining a team for Relay for Life is a way to honor the many people in her family who have lost their battle with cancer.

“I have a lot of cancer in the family,” said Donna. “Some good stories, and then some not so good. My grandfather recently passed away with leukemia and the hardest hit story was my son’s dad and the only real love of my life died with brain cancer.”

For the complete story, see the March 22 issue of the Navarre Press, or subscribe online.
