Walking to School Day spurs other events at schools

International Walk to School Day is just one of many ways Santa Rosa County is getting students fit and healthy.

West Navarre Intermediate School participated in the event Oct. 15, and students and parents were encouraged to walk to school that day if possible using safety tips that were provided throughout the week.

Walkers received awards as they entered the school that day, said David Crissey, assistant principal of West Navarre Intermediate School.
