Gulf Breeze Hospital: Focused on heart health

In 2009, more than 41,000 Floridians died as a result of heart disease, including nearly 900 people in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

In an effort to reduce the devastating impact of Florida’s No. 1 killer, Gulf Breeze Hospital, Baptist Health Care and Cardiology Consultants are committed to supporting healthier hearts in Northwest Florida and surrounding communities.

As the presenting sponsor for the 2011 Northwest Florida Heart Walk, Baptist Health Care invites area residents to join in the fight against heart disease at the walk, Saturday, Oct. 1, 7:30 a.m., at the University of West Florida campus, Pensacola. Mark Faulkner, chief operating officer of Baptist Health Care, is the 2011 Northwest Florida Heart Walk chairman.
