Diabetes affects more than 25.8 million people in the United States and an estimated 7 million more have the disease, but remain undiagnosed, according to the American Diabetes Association website.
Many Americans have little understanding of the devastating effects diabetes can have, and how to minimize their family’s risk of developing it.
