As flu season approaches, the Santa Rosa County Health Department is ready to help county residents stay healthy by offering adult flu and pneumonia vaccines beginning Oct. 1 at each health department location.

The vaccine is highly recommended for individuals age 50 or older; pregnant women who will remain pregnant through the flu season; those with a long-term health problem; those with weakened immune systems; and residents of nursing homes or other chronic health care facilities.
