Benefits abound in martial arts class

Though a crowd of 30 is gathered in the multi-purpose room, there is little noise, and little distraction.

And save for one – the group’s teacher – the average age of those in the room hovers near 70.

The class is Tai Chi, which has quickly become one of the most sought-after programs the center offers and, according to its participants, one of the most beneficial, too.

Kendra Towner, a Navarre High School student, teaches the class and said mostly, Tai Chi is about learning to slow down.
