Navarre High School Navy JROTC cadets recently competed in an Area 8 Brain Brawl at Pearl High School in Pearl, Miss. The team of four cadets competed against 16 other teams from Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and the Northwest Florida. The cadets finished second, qualifying them for the NJROTC national academic competition April 6 in Orlando.

Finalists announced for Teacher of the Year

Santa Rosa Education Foundation has announced the three finalists for Santa Rosa School District’s Teacher of the Year. Congratulations to Annette Nixon, Gulf Breeze Middle, Cheryl Thacker, Pace High, and Ann Thompson, West Navarre Intermediate.

The SREF Teacher of the Year Selection Committee, which consists of administrators, business and community leaders, and past Santa Rosa Teachers of the Year, will observe the finalists in their classrooms and conduct further interview before announcing the Santa Rosa Teacher of the Year this Friday, February 1st.

Santa Rosa’s Golden Apple Celebration will be held on March 1, 2013 at New World Landing to present Teacher of the Year awards and honor all Santa Rosa School District educators. For sponsorship information or tickets to the event visit www.santarosaeducationfoundation.org or call 983-5043.
