Teacher earns governor's Shine Award

The students in Ann Thompson’s third-grade class are a family. From the first day of school they learn together, teach each other and support one another.

“We create a team atmosphere that allows everyone to learn in their best way and we accept the differences we have,” Thompson said. “We focus on being a family and looking for the gifts each one brings to the classroom.”

Garden Mosaic process on display at Woodlawn Beach

Volunteers from the Santa Rosa County Master Gardeners visited Woodlawn Beach Middle School on April 25. While there, the gardeners demonstrated the use of their Garden Mosaic process to identify plants.

NJROTC Unit No. 1 in Region

The Navarre High School NJROTC Unit was selected as the best unit in Area 8 that encompasses 51 units in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Navarre High Prom King and Queen named

The 2013 Navarre High School Prom was held Saturday, April 13, at the Hurlburt Field Soundside Club. There was a break in the dancing at 10 p.m. when it was announced who the students voted to be the prom king and prom queen.
