Pace teens tackle CERT training

In a disaster, it could take hours for emergency responders to arrive where they’re needed. Community Emergency Response Team – CERT – training was developed to give everyday people the skills needed to help themselves, their families and their neighbors until professionals can take over.

Pace High School’s Student Government Association has committed to becoming the first Teen CERT team in Northwest Florida and just the third in Florida. The program provides students with basic disaster response skills and prepares them for multiple hazards.
