Navarre High School’s Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps unit recently competed in the Best Ranger competition at the University of West Florida.
The event required teams made up of six males and two females to perform Army-style pushups and sit-ups for two minutes, followed by a two-mile run as a team. After a short break, the cadet teams were required to put a team member on a stretcher and carry him or her during another two-mile run. The final event tests the cadet’s ability on the paintball range, shooting targets in the standing, sitting, kneeling and prone positions.
