NHS cadets earn coveted leadership cord

Newly minted leaders of Navarre High School’s NJROTC program show off their leadership cords earned during Leadership Training in Meridian, Miss.

For some students, school doesn’t end when summer begins. Cadets involved in Navarre High School’s NJROTC program work throughout the summer months to continue their education and training in order to be ready for the first day of school in August.

NHS sent 12 of its best and brightest cadets to Leadership Training in Meridian, Miss. Each year, the goal is to earn the coveted silver leadership cord that sets them apart from other cadets, said Master Chief Jimmy Ethridge, Naval Science Instructor with NHS.
