Nguyen makes her own stars to wish on

When Jiminy Cricket sang “When you wish upon a star, your dreams will take you very far” to Pinocchio, he was telling the wooden puppet that his dreams were worth pursuing.   

Trinh Nguyen didn’t get to be valedictorian of the class of 2012 by wishing on a star, she attained the title by hard work, perseverance and a just little bit of star power.

“It’s actually a great relief to me because I’ve had this spot since freshman year,” said Nguyen, “I’ve lost it once, so I feel really relieved that I’ve made it this far.”
