Possession of spice on Santa Rosa County school property is now a punishable offense that can result in expulsion or alternative placement.
The Santa Rosa County School Board voted to make that change March 22 following a public hearing on a proposed amendment to the student code of conduct. Before the amendment was passed, only the use of spice was prohibited on school property.
