Self defense for a cause

Students and faculty from Navarre High School are planning the trip of a lifetime to Honduras in the summer, and fundraising efforts have already begun to help defray the cost of the educational program.

Ian Turoff, who has taught advanced placement environmental science and Chemistry honors at Navarre High School for twelve years, is not only helping to plan and execute the trip; he’s lending his unique skills to the cause.

Turoff, a seventh degree black belt in Japanese Ju Jutsu, will be teaching a Women’s Self Defense class on March 24 to help his students raise the money they need to participate in the trip.
