Kindergarteners at West Navarre Primary school put on the stars and stripes to perform for their parents and fellow students.
The students put on a Patriotic Program on Feb. 14 that included a salute to America and a celebratory lunch afterward.
Rebecca Brand’s students began the program by marching into the classroom waving American flags and singing “You’re a Grand Old Flag.” Parents and students stood for the Pledge of Allegiance and then sang the national anthem.
Students who portrayed George Washington and Abraham Lincoln talked about their presidencies and a little bit about their life. Other students shared about the American symbols, including the bald eagle, Statue of Liberty and the American flag.
The program concluded with the songs “America the Beautiful,” “This Land is Your Land,” “My Country Tis of Thee,” and “God Bless America.” After the program, students and parents enjoyed a classic American lunch – hot dogs.
