The cadets of Navarre High School's Navy Junior ROTC braved bitter cold and biting winds for their general inspection on Dec. 7.
The occasion also marked the 70th anniversary of the bombing at Pearl Harbor. To honor the sacrifice of the Americans who lost their lives in the attack, the cadets placed 2,400 flags at the foot of the flagpole in front of the school, and stood watch throughout the day.
The inspection had several distinguished guests. Command Master Chief Toshimi Core of the Blue Angels came from NAS Pensacola and Commander Matthew J. Bowen, Executive Officer of Helicopter Squadron 8 at NAS Whiting Field also attended.
